Katatonia, 9/7/2012, Great American Music Hall, San Francisco. It was hard to select my favorite shot between Katatonia and Devin Townsend when they are on co-headlining tour. Eventually I ended up selecting Katatonia for the pure energy of the shot. Katatonia is a Swedish metal band that is one of the few bands competing for the title of being the inventors of death/doom metal. The band has been around since early 90's with nine albums under their belt.

Tyr, 9/11/2012, DNA Lounge, San Francisco It's not every week you get photos of half naked rockers from Faroe Islands. Tyr is one of very few bands that have more fans on Facebook than the whole population of their home country. This folk-metal band takes old Norse tales and turns them into metal songs. They have been getting more and more popular around the world and signed record deal with Metal Blade Records right after the tour where I had the privilege to photograph them.

9/22/2012 Tonight only; The Horsmas Still music related, but very different. This is where my own bands, The Horsmas performed in Sacramento, CA. We were invited by a group of Finns living in the area for a night of music and dancing. The Clubhouse is an old school that has been in Citrus Heights since 1862.
